Grant’s and ISADY have partnered up to travel around South Africa, capturing moments that represent #StandTogetherMzansi. So far they have portrayed the largest City in South Africa, Jozi, with numerous photo shoots taking place across the city of gold.

ISADY’s vision is to shape the voice of youth in South Africa as brave, creative and imaginative. The concept behind #StandTogetherMzansi is to bring together South Africans from all walks of life, to celebrate and embrace their cultural differences. I See A Different You wants people to engage with their raw and un-edited journey of the people that they photograph.

Over the past few days ISADY have been fortunate enough to photograph some talented Johannesburg based artists and creatively minded people, who have helped one another to achieve shared success. We looked into who they are and why they represent #StandTogetherMzansi.

Goliath and Goliath

Goliath and Goliath started their journey three years ago, with three funny men, a boss lady and a dream. Today they bring comedy to everyone with three different shows at three different venues across Johannesburg. The Goliath and Goliath group has grown and now consists of nine multi-talented men and women. They represent #StandTogetherMzansi by connecting with their audience and making them laugh.

The Trinity Session

The Trinity Session is a contemporary art production team in Johannesburg, directed by Stephen Hobbs and Marcus Neustetter. Neusetter and Hobbs are Johannesburg based artists, who are cultural activists and producers. They focus on temporary interventions and performances, in addition to producing and curating large scale public art programmes. Through the language of expression they bring together South Africans from all walks of life. #StandTogetherMzansi.

Augustine

Augustine is a Johannesburg based menswear label that truly defines ‘bespoke’ living. Justine and Marea are the brainstorm behind this striking new men’s label. Their clients are invited to participate in the tailoring process that goes in to making their outfit, from choosing the right fabric to the fine attention to detail. Justine started the Augustine brand in 2010 after returning from living in London.  She was inspired by the professional and well fitted suits she saw in abroad. Marea officially became a business partner in 2012. The Augustine brand has become a success through hard work, determination and most importantly team work. #StandTogetherMzansi.

The WKND Social

This is a monthly social event that comprises of a brunch followed by an after-party. The idea came about amongst a group of 6 women who go by the name of The Other Girls.
The WKND Social is exactly what they say they’re about: Bringing together good food, good people and good music. I SEE A DIFFERENT YOU had the pleasure of collaborating with them on the Grant’s Whisky StandTogetherMzansi campaign. ISADY managed to capture these entrepreneurial women, who Stand Together by being able to create a social event that is currently booming in Jozi.

Soweto Skate Society

This society is a NGO that aims at teaching youngsters life skills through skating, not only to turn skating into a sport but to take it seriously and empower young people in Soweto and bring positive change into their lives.
Sechaba, born and bred from Soweto, founded this organisation, and expressed his passion for skating at the young age of 14. Now 10 years later, his lifelong passion has finally become a reality.
He is a prime example of what it means to uplift his community and Stand Together, through creating new avenues that can assist the next generation’s future in Soweto.

 Explosive Tarianas

They are a young group of boys, who share a passion and talent for style and dancing. They dress in flamboyant colours and expensive designer clothing.
On the forefront their dance moves have a unique sense of flair and energy which brings joy to many South Africans. I SEE A DIFFERENT YOU took this opportunity to include them in the #StandTogetherMzansi campaign as they know what it takes to move, inspire and to stand together.
